Last week, the NeQter Labs team traded gloomy New England weather for some much-needed sunshine in San Diego as we attended the CS5 Conference, and it did not disappoint.
Between great conversations, reconnecting with familiar faces, and meeting new partners across the CMMC ecosystem, CS5 was a strong reminder of just how quickly the compliance landscape is moving.
One thing was clear throughout the event: CMMC readiness is no longer something companies are planning for “someday.” It’s happening now.
Feedback From Assessors
We had a lot of conversations with C3PAOs who are actively working with contractors preparing for assessments, many of whom already have NeQter deployed as part of their compliance process. It was encouraging to hear firsthand how organizations are using the platform to stay organized and assessment-ready as they move toward Level 2 certification.
Advisors Seeking Partner Vendors
We also met with several advisors and consultants seeking trusted partners they can refer clients to when compliance gaps need to be addressed. Whether it’s policy support, technical remediation, or preparing for assessments, the need for strong partnerships across the CMMC space is growing fast, and collaboration is becoming more important than ever.
Recent Client Success
One of the best parts of the conference was meeting more of our current clients in person. Several shared that they’ve completed their Level 1 self-assessment and are now deep into preparation for their Level 2 assessment. Seeing that progress and being part of that journey is always exciting for our team.
Conclusion
We also spent time catching up with old friends and talking about where the industry is headed next. A major topic? Prime contractors are starting to put real pressure on subcontractors by adding CMMC compliance deadlines directly into renewed contracts. These aren’t “nice to have” conversations anymore; they’re business-critical deadlines that companies can’t afford to ignore.
And yes, while compliance may have been the main event, we’d be lying if we said the amazing food, and perfect San Diego weather didn’t make the trip even better. After weeks of gray skies back home, a little California sunshine was a welcome bonus.
Overall, CS5 was packed with valuable conversations and clear signals about where the industry is headed. The urgency around compliance is growing, the need for trusted partners is stronger than ever, and many organizations are moving quickly to stay ahead.
If we had the chance to connect with you at CS5, thank you. We’re excited for what’s ahead and look forward to continuing the conversation.
